Curved Paver Walkway in Saanich
The owner wanted a walkway that linked the driveway to the backdoor. She wanted a curved walkway as it was more aesthetically pleasing and had more flair. I worked with her photos that she had picked out from a magazine to get the design, pattern, and colors she wanted.
There were multiple challenges with this one. The access in the back was particular narrow and low and required the use of a smaller machine. The front landing was found to be somewhat hollow underneath, which would’ve left a gap between the top of the new walkway and the bottom of the landing. As a result, slabs had to be added vertically to hide the gap. Finally, because of all the curves, this took considerably longer than anticipated from all the cutting of the bricks.
As usual, when work was completed, the torn up ground was remediated with new raked soil and seeded accordingly.
